EcoCommute

EcoCommute is a sustainability-focused mobile application designed to address the often invisible environmental cost of daily commuting. While public transport is widely recognised as more eco-friendly, many commuters lack a clear sense of how much their travel choices matter. EcoCommute bridges this gap by turning everyday commutes into tangible environmental insights. Users can log their trips across different transport modes (such as MRT, bus, or car), view summaries of distance travelled and estimated carbon emissions, and track their progress over time. By presenting environmental data in a simple and accessible way, EcoCommute aims to shift commuting from a passive habit into a conscious choice. The project is aligned with Singapore’s Green Plan 2030, particularly its focus on sustainable transport and reducing carbon emissions. Rather than forcing behavioural change, EcoCommute nudges users through awareness, reflection, and positive reinforcement - making sustainable commuting feel achievable and rewarding.
